The Cholfirst transmission tower is a 96-meter-high free-standing steel lattice tower on the 570-meter-high Cholfirst near Flurlingen (south of Schaffhausen ) in Switzerland .
The Cholfirst transmission tower was built by the PTT in 1973 , after an experimental television station on channel 47 had been operating nearby for three years at a height of 40 meters. Construction cost 7 million Swiss francs. At the request of the municipality of Flurlingen, it was equipped with an observation platform at a height of 42 meters. The PTT covered the additional costs.
